VILLAGE KITCHEN OPENS ON VICTORIA ISLAND
August 11, 2007
UAC Franchising a Division of UAC of Nigeria Plc (UAC), has formally opened Village kitchen, an ethnic cuisine offering, situated inside Mr. Bigg's Plaza, Ozumba Mbadiwe Avenue, Victoria Island, Lagos.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Larry Ettah group Managing Director/CEO of UAC of Nigeria Plc, said that the launch of the Village Kitchen has come at a time the company is vigorously driving its Home Replacement Meal and ethnic delicates strategy to achieve critical mass.
He explained that a major consideration in bringing the Village Kitchen closer to the customers is that some of the restaurants would be opened as additional counters in some of the existing Mr. Bigg's restaurant, stressing “This is part of our food court strategy which is an innovative retail format that allows us to offer bundled menu so as to satisfy our patrons' need for choice, variety, convenience and, of course, increase our share of the consumption wallet.”
He pointed out that given UAC's new drive and aspirations, there are plans to give Village Kitchen a national footprint by taking it to major towns and cities across Nigeria , saying “This consideration is in line with UAC's strategy to evolve into a Food-Focused conglomerate. This, no doubt, informed the creation of Franchising, in September 2006. UAC Franchising's major responsibility is to nurture our basket of restaurant brands to enable them.
